Throughout its history NGK has always made it a policy to anticipate the needs of the spark plug market before they are widely recognised. We pioneered copper core technology, introducing copper core spark plugs into the automotive market as early as 1958.
Long before it became a hot topic NGK also anticipated worldwide legislation demanding the reduction of environmentally harmful exhaust emissions and the requirement of leaner airlfuel mixtures. As far back as the 70s we developed the V-Grooved copper core spark plug suitable for both leaded and unleaded fuel. The unique 'V' cut into the central electrode gives greater ignitabilily and improved exhaust emissions. |

NGK V-Grooved was launched in the UK in 1988.
Superior ignitability has proved ideal for both leaded and unleaded fuel.
Now fitted as OE on the majority of all Japanese cars as well as on Aston Martin, Lotus, Rover and Jaguar V12 engines.
