Question:

    Dear Bill

Hope you can help with this one.

I purchased this car last year and its a good one, however recently I`ve noticed that the handling is a bit sloppy at speed. I am not new to tweeking cars as I tweeked my mk5 Orion from 105 bhp to 145 bhp. So i was considering low profile alloys and possibly uprating the suspension, I could also do with getting more power out of the engine. However i cannot seem to find any suppliers of uprated / performance parts for this Toyota.

Would this help in this case? Could you advise on suppliers ?

    Thanx - Pete

Answer:

    Hi there,

nice car the Toyota Carina, but not one that readily comes to mind when thinking of sooping a car up, they're pretty lively without it.

Because of that, not many manufacturers make many bolt on goodies for it, you can however get Low Profile Tyres from most good tyre suppliers, and I'm fairly sure that Munroe produce some produce some sporty type shock absorbers.

Have you got an A1 Motor Store near you ? they are pretty good at stocking or getting lot's of goodies for sooping up motors, give them a try if you do, please tell them we suggested it as they are one of our sponsors, they help me to help you, if you go into our sponsors page and click on A1 Motor Stores page and

then go to store finder, select by area, the map of GB will come up, simply click on the area of the country where you live and you will find a list of stores near you

Other than that, enjoy your motor, I like the Toyota range, they're a well made &substantial car for your money, be safe, good luck.

    Regards Bill
