Do I have to pay for a retest

    If you leave your vehicle at the test station which failed it for the repairs to done, the retest is free of charge.

    If the vehicle is taken away for the repairs to be done elsewher a full re examination must be done and a full retest fee becomes payable.

    There are however selected items that if repaired and returned for retest before the end of the next working day - no retest fee is due:- those items applicable are:-

    ABS warning - direction indicators or hazard warning - fuel filler cap - loading door - registration plates - vin/(chassis no.) - Boot lid - doors - headlamps aim - mirrors - seat belts (but not anchorages) - steering wheel - brake pedal antislip - dropsides - horn - rear reflectors - seats - sharp edges or projections - windscreens and wipers/washers - emissions - lamps - tailgate - tailboard. (One or more of these items partial re-examination only).
