What should I do between Services
On a regular basis (at least once a week) you should check your Oil Level... Coolant level... Windscreen Washer Solvent level... Brake Fluid level (be very careful..this is very dangerous stuff..it can damage your paintwork if spilt on it)... Battery Fluid - (if it's not a sealed for life Battery) and use only "De-Ironised" water..(this is also good for your steam iron).. Oh.. and don't smoke anywhere near the battery it can explode... Check your Tyres and Tyre pressures including the Spare... check your Wiper Blades.. Front and if you've got one..the rear...Get someone to help you check all of your Lights.. Front - Head - Main and Dip - Spot or Fog - Side - Indicators including Side Repeaters and Hazards - Check.. Rear lights - Stoplights - Foglights - Indicators including hazards and Number Plate... also check both front and rear Number Plates.. Check that they are there and the condition.
Any one or all of the above can be a cause of breakdown... checking all of the above on a weekly basis will drastically reduce the possibility of a breakdown occurring.
